Mandy, Lesley and Steven: My daughter Stephanie is sending these greetings from both of us because I don't type. Your father, Roy, was a very dear friend since we met in 1968 and have remained good friends, shared birthdays and news of family from time to time. He preached at every pastoral charge that I served and I had the privilege of nominating him for the Order of Canada. The people I approached from Catholic Bishops to leaders in universities and college responded gratefully to support that nomination. He was really in touch with where the little people are and very imposing in stature. As my daughter said, when she was 5 years old and he knocked on the door, "Mommy, it's the Jolly Green Giant, Hurry". He was pretty big compared to a 5 year old.
