Obituary for William Allen McDowell

William Allen McDowell
McDOWELL, William "Will" Allen (Retired Fire Prevention Officer Belleville Fire Department)-
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Will at his home on Sunday June 25th, 2017 in his 53rd year. Loving son to Allen & Marian McDowell. Cherished husband of 23 years to Lara (nee Seysmith). Proud father to Jessica and Casey. Beloved brother of Andrew McDowell (Laura) of Holland Landing. He will also be sadly missed by Edward & Teresa Seysmith of Scarborough, his sister-in-law Carole Seysmith-Vaughan (Rick) of Peterborough, nieces and nephews; Mackenzie, Shannon, Meagan and Hailey, and his beloved dog Bow.

Born and raised in Kleinburg, Ontario, Will began his career as a volunteer fire fighter with his brother and a few childhood friends. In 1994, Will and Lara moved to Belleville when he was hired by the Belleville Fire Department. Shortly after, they built a home in Thomasburg where he and Lara raised their beautiful twin daughters. As an avid outdoorsman, Will enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, martial arts and his Harley Davidson Fat Boy. Will’s love of music and "dream" of becoming a rock star led him to take up the guitar in his 40’s, and form the family band, “FamJam” with Lara and their daughters. Will’s playful sense of humour and adventurous spirit was contagious to all those whose lives he touched.
