Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Francis. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

Francis Reichert, was Frankfords favorite son, the whole community took him under its' wings and into their hearts, because he was full of goodness for others, he brought out the best of people, he was such a rarity, and that's what hurts about losing Frankie: Rest in peace son; The joys of heaven await you ....Lilly & Gerard Hoftyzer:

Our deepest condolences Laurie and family with the loss of your dear brother Francis.May the Lord carry you in His loving arms as you travel through this dark period in your lives..We got to know Francis through his sister Laurie who was a friend with our daughter Leina through their early school years. We worked along side with him many shifts at the "Bible for Mission thrift store".He will be missed there because he spent many shifts there. And our friendship group will surely miss him to.Francis always had a prayer request and the last few weeks the request were for his uncle Sid.Yes Francis loved family. His favorite song at Friendship Was "I will make you fishers of men".We loved you Francis. And thanks for the memories you left with us.

I was very lucky to know Francis when I was living in Trenton. Francis and I went on many hikes in the summer and did cross-country skiing in the winter.
He always had great energy and was always calm and friendly. Because of him, I was able to see more places than I would have on my own.
After out skiing and hiking jaunts, a trip to Tim Hortons was in order. We would sit at a table that allowed one to see (and critique) various makes and models of automotive products. He more listened patiently as I rambled about fake wood paneling and pitied very tall drivers in very small cars.
In addition to his great patience, he always had common sense. At the 2003 air show, in Trenton, he suggested we get sunscreen. I didn't see the need. He was in a shirt and long pants. I was in uniform. Yep! Our forearms were burned. I needed a lot of garlic butter when I had to eat crow.
I was lucky to be able to go and do many things with him. We went to the Brighton Speedway a number of times.
Francis was always helping everyone with yard work, shovelling snow and what was needed to be done at the time.
My thoughts and prayers are with Francis' family and friends and the people of Frankford as well. Francis was truly a bright light in this world.
God bless you my friend. It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of your life. You will be missed, and if I do right, I'll be able to see you again someday.

In life you meet many people that come and go but there are special friends that always remain. Francis you were one of those special friends and we will miss seeing you bike down our driveway just dropping in for a visit or enjoying breakfast at the restaurant. You have touched our Community and will be deeply missed. On a personal note Bob and many others will miss your presence at the Frankford Fire Department. Our sincere condolences to your Family.
Until We Meet Again — God Bless

When Laurie became part of the Akey Clan, Frankie did too. Bob became a brother and he followed him wherever. I'd argue with him about his choice of NASCAR Driver. Whenever something needed carried, moved, Frankie was there. He'd shovel snow for hours. He adored his niece and nephews, but I'm sure he got annoyed at their pranks, but never complained. Every Xmas when I gave him the gift certificates I'd tell him he could eat my gift, and he'd laugh and laugh. Frankie just loved life and people and the simple things that life offered him. He will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Frankie.

It is with great sadness that we say goodby to our friend, Frances: We will always remember the laughter of a young man who enjoyed camping with us at Westcott State Park; fishing, cycling (you would see him on his bicycle miles from home, in unexpected places); going to the races, and the sale barn with Gerard Hoftyzer and my my husband Bill on Tuesdays, Just this past Tuesday Bill came home laughing at a joke they shared; He was very interested in the workings of the community and always knew the latest upgrades. He was always willing to lend a helping hand with a ready smile....Frances; such an innocent soul, you will never know how much you left behind in the hearts of those who knew you, all your extended family:...You live on in our hearts: With condolences to your family:

So Francis, sadly your time on this planet was abruptly cut short my friend.
The tenth was the last time we spoke; about all of that thanksgiving turkey
we so eagerly consumed. You replied in your usual soft-spoken way,
"Yup! A lot, thank you and bye bye." We didn't know; at the time, the
finiteness of those tiny but poignant utterances. You will not be forgotten.

Fond regards to the family.
