Condolences

Condolence From: Rob Kelly
Condolence: Dear Cathy and family, So sad to hear the news of the passing of your father. I can't help but think back to our university days when we met and when I had the honour and pleasure of meeting your dad, mom and brother. Your family was so welcoming to me and made me feel like a part of the family. Yours was my home away from home. I remember your mom and dad always made sure we were well fed and well taken care of. I think now of the link our families had - I grew up unpacking boxes from Deacon Brothers in my dad's clothing store. I can remember the Deacon Brothers logo vividly. Little did I know that 15 years later I would help you move into residence at York University. Some of the happiest days of my life. I know all to well what its like to lose a parent, and I know how fond you were of your dad. Your dad and your mom are very special people. If I was there right now I'd give you and your mom a big hug. However difficult it is remember that your dad will be with you always - in your heart. Cherish the memories and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rest in peace Mr. Deacon. Thank you for all you taught this young man just starting out. You will never be forgotten. Rob

Condolence: Barb and family - it saddens us to hear of Fred's passing. Our thoughts are with you all. Our most favourite memory comes to the forefront when we stopped in to pick up Fred for hockey practice which he didn't want to attend and was hiding in full hockey attire behind the family room sofa. Please hold tight to the many memories that you all have. Fred was a gentle gentleman and we still have a Deacon Bros. jacket in our closet. Huge hugs to all of you

Condolence From: Annie Belle Weymark
Condolence: Dearest Barb and all the family, my heart aches for you. This loss of your dear husband, father, grandfather, is too painful to fathom, I know. Of all the glowing tributes about Fred which will be written in these days after, mine will be memories of his unique sense of humour. And his kindness. He had such a heart for the downtrodden as evidenced through his good works for the community. Please know that my deepest sympathy and prayers are with each of you in this time of sadness, and that God’s blessing will sustain you in these days ahead. Annie Belle

Condolence From: Sandy and Bill Boughner
Condolence: Barbie and Entire Family, Fred was a wonderful life long friend. Our Fathers did successful business to-gether which resulted in our introduction when Fred came to Westen. That's where the fun and friendship got started ! Fred left Western and went directly into Deacon Bros. I fondly remember Mrs. Deacon, who was so anxious about Fred shouldering responsibility so very soon after graduating. She warmly welcomed many of Fred's friends who came to Belleville to visit. The train trip to Sudbury for Fred And Barb's beautiful wedding, is a memory cherished by many of their Wedding Party. We were so fortunate to have spent time with him the day before he passed. He summoned up the strength to respond to our greeting-- --"How are you Fred?" by saying,--"Better for seeing you." We will never forget that. Thank You Fred. Sandy and Bill
