Obituary for Jan "John" Koning

KONING, Jan – entered into rest at the Trenton Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018. John Koning of Carrying Place in his 89th year. Son of the late Willem and Harmke (Siccama) Koning. Beloved husband of Audrey (van der Meulen) Koning. Loved father of Walter (Linda) Koning of Carrying Place, Christy (Mike) Baker of Waterloo, Margaret Koning of Picton, and Robert (Stacey) Koning of Carrying Place. Survived by sisters Rens (late Willem) Riemersma of the Netherlands, Alice (Lambert) Veltman-Banga of Carrying Place and predeceased by brother Ouwe (Lyda) Koning. Loving grandfather of Eric, Byron, Simon, Daryl, Ryan, Andrew and Margaret's children. The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church, 18 Fourth Avenue, Trenton, on Monday, February 12th, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Church on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Marc Hoogstad officiating. Interment Carrying Place Cemetery at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
