LAAKSO, Joan Isobel (nee Marsh)
Passed away at the Belleville General Hospital on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 in her 95th year. Daughter of the late Mary Heald and Frederick Marsh. Loving wife of the late William Walter Laakso. Beloved mother of Naomi Saunders (David). Cherished Nanny of Brandi Oickle (John), Mark Saunders and Hope Saunders, and great grandmother to Bailey Oickle. Joan is predeceased by her siblings Lillian Ashley, Doris Campbell, Annie Hicks, Mollie Reid (Mary), Elizabeth Balyx, Billie Dawkins (Ruth) and twin brother Jack Marsh. Special Godmother to Deborah Whiting (Gary). She will also be especially remembered by nieces Mona Brown and Peggy Dool, as well as many other nieces, nephews and several dear friends. Visitation will be held at the JOHN R BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588) on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Following a reception, Joan will be laid to rest alongside her late husband at the Belleville Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Violence Awareness and Random Acts of Kindness (V.A.R.A.K.), Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation are appreciated by the family.
