The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Koning can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Robert Timothy Koning

In Loving Memory
ROBERT TIMOTHY KONING: October 2, 1973 – March 12, 2018
Robert Timothy Koning took his own life, left this world, and fell into the arms of his Heavenly Father on March 12, 2018. He was 44 years old.
Beloved husband of Stacey (Roach) and proud father to Ryan and Andrew.
Predeceased by his dad, John Koning; much loved son of Audrey Koning and son-in-law of Jack Roach (Corrine). Survived by brother Walter (Linda) Koning and sister Christy (Mike) Baker; brother-in-law Steve (Tina) Roach and sister-in-law Lori Roach. Loving uncle to Eric, Byron, Simon, Daryl, Marin, Kristofer, Celine and Alli. Good friend to Richard (Nicole) Wolters and Dave Grosjean. Treasured co-worker of everyone at Premiere Truck Group in Belleville.
The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church 18 Fourth Avenue, Trenton, on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Memorial service will be held at the Church on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
We are not ashamed that Robert took his life. We carry immense grief for the pain he lived with for so long and the burden only Stacey was trusted to share. We will chip away at the stigma of mental illness until everyone who suffers with this disease openly reaches for help and knows that they are not alone.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to tax-free savings accounts that have been established for Robert’s sons would be greatly appreciated. Cheques should be made out to Stacey Koning; e-transfers should be sent to koning1971@hotmail.com
Arrangements entrusted to the RUSHNELL FUNERAL CENTRE, 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111). On-line condolences at www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
