"Walton, Basil Vivian Edwin – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Basil (Bob) Walton on Saturday, March 24th, 2018, in his 93rd year. He was the son of the late Edwin and Maude Walton (England) and survived by his loving wife of 65 years Liliane Walton (nee Chollet). He was the wonderful father to Lynn Becker (late Garth), Christine Haynes (Andrew), Roland Walton (Fulvia) and Michael Walton (Aileen) as well as a loving grandfather to Theresa and Raymond Becker, Benjamin, Bianca and Brigitte Walton and Victoria and Austin Walton. He had one great grand daughter Ainsley Becker.
Basil moved to Canada with his wife Liliane, from England in 1953 to manage Dussek Brothers Canada located on Station Street and never returned to England after becoming a part of the fabric of Belleville life. In his later years he pursued his passions for writing, travel and spending time laughing and sharing his wisdom with family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Dinkel’s Restaurant, 44 Bridge St., E., Belleville, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:30pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Belleville Funeral Home & Chapel 68 North Front St., Belleville (613) 968-5080. Donations in his honour can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
