SMITH, Doris Lealia-
September 23rd, 1925 – April 5th, 2018
RN, Former co-owner of the Westwind Motel, Franklin Coach Lines, Franklin Tours and the Westwind Boutique.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Doris L. Smith announces her passing at Belleville General Hospital on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Franklin C. Smith, she lived a life of unconditional love and unstinting support for her family, unwavering faith, deeply-entrenched integrity, remarkable vision and stellar accomplishment. Doris is survived by her three sons- Monte of Carrying Place, Stephen (Diane) of Madoc and Craig (June) of Frankford. Her four grandchildren – Rachel, Victoria, Garrett and Matt will now experience a tremendous sense of loss with her passing. Their grandma was beyond compare! Daughter of the late Elwood and Gladys Cronk (nee Conley), Doris was born and raised on the family farm in Wellington. She was the eldest of five children, and will be sorely missed by her brothers, Harold (late Kay) Cronk of Wellington and Walter (Judy) Cronk of Bloomfield, as well as by her sisters, Mary (Ross) Lumley and Shirley (the late Bill) Hawkins, both of Belleville. Furthermore, she will be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom respected her greatly. She was predeceased by her in-laws, Clayton and Doris M. Smith, and by her brother-in-law, Donald Smith and his wife Margie Smith. The family would like to thank the caring Nursing Staff of Quinte 6 and the Doctors of the family med team at the Belleville Hospital, as well as devoted personal support worker Clara Lynn Lee. Arrangements have been entrusted to BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL LTD. 68 N. Front St. Belleville (613-968-5080). Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 11th, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Memorial Donations to the BGH Foundation, or Oncology Department at BGH would be appreciated by the family.
