Obituary for Lottie Agnes Faulkner (Barkhouse)

Lottie Agnes Faulkner (Barkhouse)
FAULKNER, Lottie Agnes-
The journey of life stopped for Mum/Maw/Gammy/Grandma on Mother's Day, May 13th, 2018 quietly slipping away. She was born in Sheet Harbour Nova Scotia on October 12th, 1924. Predeceased by her parents Pearl & Arthur Barkhouse, sisters Nettie, Margaret, brothers Reginald and Harold. Also predeceased by Daughter Frances Zandbergen and husband of 64 years Clarence. Loved by daughters; Nancy (Ken) Sherk of Stirling, Bonnie (Ron) McNamara of Stirling, Karen (Bob) Bird of North Bay and Son/Friend of 50 years Glenn Smethurst....his Maw. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Deanna, Tamara, Michael, Shannon, Christopher, Peter, Sarah, Russell, Adam and six great grandchildren. Employed by McIntosh Brothers for 25 years, Lottie became proficient in the art of the needle. Working with fabrics and wool she became an artist in her own right. Quilting and knitting magnificent sweaters and creating many items for Churches, the Masonic Temple and private individuals. A lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star she traveled extensively. Everyone enjoyed her baking...pies especially...and her green thumb in the garden. Above all... our Lottie was a person of integrity and courage in her convictions. She valued each person she encountered and was an extraordinary person. With her inner strength and beauty she encouraged within each of us the gift that made all of us unique. Tiny, but might in spirit she had love for everyone. Weathering her years extremely well, the journey of life had many winding paths; not without tears, and glimpses of memories of days gone by. Her memories...were a kaleidoscope with a very special key. If you could unlock it, the images were there for you to share with her. Lottie Agnes Faulkner was TRULY LOVED!!!
Cremation has taken place, with her final resting place at a later date in Eggleton-Clark Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL LTD. 68 N. Front St. Belleville (613-968-5080).
