Obituary for Phyllis Jean Smith (Kane)

SMITH, Phyllis Jean – It is with great sadness, the family of Phyllis Smith announce her passing at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 30th, 2018. Resident of Belleville, Phyllis was in her 87th year. Loving daughter of the late David and Margaret Kane. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Smith (2014). Devoted mother to Janice Guthrie (Bill) of Oshawa, Nancy Hearns (Michael) and Brian Smith all of Belleville. She is survived by her sister Margaret Jones (late Myrddin) of Pennsylvania and sisters-in-law Joan Kane of Sudbury and Joyce Kane of Peterborough. Pre-deceased by brothers David and Jack Kane. She will be greatly missed by her pet cat Otis. In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes, cremation will take place. The family will hold a graveside service at the Belleville Cemetery Niche Wall on Saturday, July 21st, 2018 at 11:00a.m. Reception will take place at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) immediately following the graveside service.
