Retired Music Teacher – Wooler & Frankford Schools; Life Member of the U.C.W.; Church Organist for Stockdale, Wooler & Frankford United Churches; Member of the O.E.S., No. 82, Colborne Chapter -
Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Belmont Long Term Care Facility, Belleville on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Jean Austin was in her 98th year. Daughter of the late Harold & Molly Steinberg and wife of the late Karl Stanley Austin. Loving mother of Guy and his wife Barbara of Belleville. Dearest sister of Doreen Thompson(Claude) of Brighton and predeceased by her brother Douglas Steinberg(Pat) and her sisters-in-law Roma Wilkins(Russ) and Edith Clapp(Ralph). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family wish to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Forbes, Support Staff and Management of the Belmont L.T.C.F. for their care and compassion shown to Jean.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Service In Celebration of Her Life will be held in the chapel of the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) on Friday, September 28th, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. Kathy Edminson officiating. Private family inurnment in the Austin Family Plot at Stockdale Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, the Wooler United Church or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated by the family.
