The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Shirley Reddom can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I miss and love you so very much Grandma.
I am going to admit for my very first time, I was so angry on the day you left. Two short days before the biggest day of my life. I didn't know if I was going to be able to hold myself together...It was raining on my wedding day...I know they say it's good luck, and I can totally hear you giving me trouble for complaining, but Grandma, you saw how beautiful I looked...I didn't want the rain to wash it away...lol So...Just before we were set to start the day off, I privately went outside and talked to you. I'm sure you heard...I said,"Grandma! You know I have never asked you for anything, but today I am begging you, PLEASE make the rain stop...Even if it's just temporarily so we can get done what we need to get done!!" As per usual, you never cease to amaze me, you didn't let me down...The rain stopped. I had the most perfect day...The most beautiful day of my entire life. I felt you with me. I truly did...As cliche as it sounds, I know! Then...You showed as few people you were there...The butterfly landed on my dress during my vows...I never thanked you for that...Today I thank you for that.
Grandma...I got the bracelet. Thank you so very much. I will cherish it until I see you again.
I love and miss you and Grandpa so much....I can't even articulate.
My comfort is knowing you're with Grandpa and Uncle Adam. I also take great comfort in knowing you are healthy and free. My greatest comfort is knowing I will hear your ticker again when my time comes.
Loving you always...From near or far...You have my heart always.

Condolence: I have such strong, fond and fun memories of Shirley. My family used to spend our summers in an old farmhouse on Union Road. Shirley and Charlie never seemed to mind when my sister and I would come to visit with them, to play with the dogs and cats and ponies. Shirley had such a very natural way about her, and she made me feel grown-up because she spoke to me as an equal, even when I was a little girl. It’s something that I’ve tried to keep in mind throughout my career of working mainly with children. She also inspired me with her pie baking. Oh, to have another one of her apple pies… I’ve never been able to match her tender crust. Shirley… thank you for the inspiration and the memories.
