To all the COLE family, I am so sorry to hear about my Uncle Jim's passing. He was an amazing man and had a really good "innings" reaching his 101st year and still being able to remember stories from distant times(as recent as the start of may). On our visits from England in the past with my mum(Maureen), Dad(Reuben) and cousin Jacky(niece to Jim) we have had some great times with Uncle jim - he was kind and his sense of humour was hilarious. So proud to have known him and he will be a big miss in so many of your lives - but talk about him and remember him and his spirit will always be remembered. He will be in heaven with his beloved Anne and lots of our other relatives and watching down on you all. Lots of Love and thought from cousin Anne & Paul (Neice of jim). xx

The Chief inspired me to join the Navy, and his service to the country during the Battle of the Atlantic was an example to us all. I was honoured to know him, and so happy I got to see him and my father trade sea stories on Remembrance Day 2016, my last Remembrance day in uniform. Rest in Peace Petty Officer Cole. Our condolences to the Cole family. John Haggis CPO2 retd
