Obituary for Barbara Elsie Bertrim

BERTRIM, Barbara Elsie – A generous, kind soul is gone forever with the passing of Barbara Bertrim in the presence of her loving family, on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 in her 93rd year in Belleville, Ontario. Barb was born in Quebec City on March 14th, 1929. She was predeceased by her much loved husband of 58 years (Howard) Keith Bertrim, as well by her parents BJ and Mabel (Sharpe) Theobald, sister Lois (Roy Taylor) and brothers Harvey (Renie), Alan, Gord (Mary), Stuart (Judy) and Ian Theobald.
Barb was much loved by her five children, Deborah (George Butler), Donna (Bryan Douey), Dyanne Perrier (the late Patrick Frankowski), Janice (Jim Harvey) and Keith Jr. (Helen Bertrim).
Barb was also much loved by her 13 grandchildren Michelle Porter (Dave), Richelle Glenn (Merv), Carolyn Baird (Kevin), Chris Porter (Mary), Jennifer Perrier (Ryan), Bryan Douey Jr., Kristina Douey, Jason Perrier (Marissa), Michael Harvey (Katie), Kale Bertrim (Kelsey), Christina Harvey (Givan), Pheobe Bertrim and Ava Bertrim, as well as by 16 great-grandchildren Brandon (Ashley), Mitchell, Jordan, Paige, Abigael, Rigsby, Jaxson, Isabella, Kesler, Annabelle, Emilie, Connor, Aubrey, James, Owen and Ellie, and 2 great-great-grandchildren Izaiah and Leland.
Barb had a long and fulfilling life, devoting her life to her children and all their families. Barb worked for Canada Post for many years.
Summers for 30 years were spent at the cottage on Lake Kashwakamak with extended family, enjoying many days fishing and sitting on the very large dock with an afternoon Tom Collins, while often cooking for up to 25 family members that descended on the cottage at once.
In later years Barb loved her winters in Florida, first staying with her brother Stuart and for the last 14 years with her daughter Deb (George). Many days were enjoyed sitting in the lanai, absorbing the warmth and in the company of many family members, as well as multiple trips to the beach and community pool.
Friends are invited to join the family at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588). Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14th, 2022 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and a reception will follow the visitation from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. A private family interment at Elmwood Cemetery, officiated by Stan Yeo. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke or HPE Food for Learning would be greatly appreciated by the family.
