WOODLEY, Douglas Charles Pearce -
Douglas Charles Pearce Woodley was born in Belleville on January 17, 1928 and passed away peacefully in his 93rd year on March 26, 2020, at his home in Belleville, Ontario. Doug owned and operated a family business Woodley Furriers (est. 1904), in downtown Belleville and worked there until he retired. He was a long time
member of the Belleville Sales and Ad and enjoyed his daily routine of coffee with friends at the Belmont. He enjoyed many summers boating and spending time with his family at the cottage on Wolfe Island. After his retirement he enjoyed golfing and spending winters with June and many friends in Florida. Doug is survived by his wife of 67 years, June (nee Harteib). They were married April 6, 1953 in Toronto and also lived in Gananoque and Belleville. Doug will be remembered as a very loving and proud father of his four children, Dan Woodley (Kris Harroun), Liane Woodley (Cathy Portt), Kenneth Woodley (Cathy) and Carol Goerke (Rob). Doug will be remembered fondly by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Doug is also survived by his brother Richard (Marion Wishart). A celebration of life with family and friends will be scheduled at a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588)

Dear June, Danny, Liane, Kenneth, Carol and Richard
Cyril and I are thinking of you as we have learned of Doug's passing, via the Intell.
You have our deepness sympathies as you go through this painfully sad time,
made worse by social distancing and closed flower shops.
Doug will always have a special place in my heart when I remember how compassionate
he was when I was experiencing multiple losses between 1974 and 1976. I remember
each of you from those years and wish you comfort and solace in your many memories.
Flo Fobert
