Obituary

McAVELLA, Helen Theresa -

Peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at the Westgate Lodge Long Term Care Facility, Belleville. Helen McAvella (nee Harris) of Belleville died at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Stan & Helen Harris (nee Lynch) and wife of the late Thomas B. McAvella. Helen was the aunt of Joanne Petherick (late David), Tom Dafoe (Kathy) all of Campbellford, Mike Dafoe (Cecile) of New Hampshire and the late Bill Dafoe. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588). A Graveside Service & Rite of Committal with Prayers will be held in the spring at St. James' Cemetery, Belleville. If desired, donations in Helen's memory to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or Belleville General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
