Obituary

DICRESCENZO, Raymond Joseph (July 10, 1927 - Jan 7, 2020) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ray, a beloved husband of the late Marie Yvette (Lafond), a very loving and caring father of Paul (Shelley), Marie (Gord), loved grandfather of the late Kevin Gordon Rankin; Brother of the late Bobby and Helen DiCrescenzo; Brother of Olga and the late Horace Barnatt; Uncle to Joe (Liz) DiCrescenzo; Rick (Betsy) and Don Barnatt and the late Phyllis Barnatt; loved cousin to many. Ray was a well known resident of Trenton, Ontario with many friends and a very good friend to Gilles Larrivee, who took dad on lots of outings and to church that they both enjoyed. Ray served in the Navy and had a long career as a civilian steam engineer at CFB Trenton. He was a lifelong member of the Trenton Legion Branch 110, the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer of the Trenton Food Bank, and coach of many of Paul's sports teams throughout the years. Ray enjoyed life, mostly spending time with his family. He was well loved by his late grandson Kevin, who he was so proud of bonded with. At the family's request, please no deliveries to the Rankin household, in lieu of flowers, Donations may be made directly to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thank you to all the dedicated TMH In-patient staff, Dr. F. Pollard, all the Nurses, PSW's and hospitality staff who worked hard and demonstrated compassion and genuine care for Ray and to all his caring visitors. Also thank you to Crown Ridge Retirement staff and friends who helped Ray throughout his illness and stay. Ray has requested there be no visitation. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Peter's Church on Monday, January 13th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. May you rest in peace Dad! Arrangements under the care of RUSHNELL FUNERAL CENTRE 60 Division St., Trenton (613-392-2111). To leave a condolence, please visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com

Deepest sympathy to Ray's family...Ray showed kindness, a great sense of humor and thoughtfulness to our mother, Ruth McCauley as fellow Crown Ridge residents. Ray always made sure that mom had the cartoons and editorial cartoons for her to draw.
