It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Anne Surette (nee MacSween). Sheila died peacefully on the morning of January 6, 2020 holding her daughter Michele’s hand. We are confident that she was immediately embraced in a big bear hug up in heaven by her son, Dan.

Sheila died after a lengthy illness which she fought valiantly, right up to her last days, surprising us all with her resiliency and humour. Hank, her beloved husband of 55 years, was at her side through it all.

Sheila will be missed by so many people that she touched during her 79 years, including her many friends in Brighton and Palgrave; her extended family in Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick; her daughter Michele and son-in-law Dave; her step-grandchildren Melissa and Sam; her daughter-in-law Anne; her granddaughters Emilie and Lily; and perhaps most of all by the love of her life, Hank.

Sheila lived a full and beautiful life filled with joy and laughter. We all feel so blessed to have loved her.

There will be a funeral mass for Sheila on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 40 Centre St in Brighton. A reception to follow at The Timberhouse, 116 Cedardale Rd., Brighton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
