Condolence: Sandy Welch came into our lives in Markham, Ontario at The Salvation Army Markham Corps. This was our first appointment as Salvation Army officers. I am not sure if she adopted us into her family or we adopted her but she quickly became Aunt Sandy to our three daughters. She has remained a true family friend and celebrated many special family moments with us - happy and sad ones. The recent celebration was on the news of our eldest daughter, Rebekah, expecting her first child and Owen and I becoming grandparents!
Sandy and David would often babysit our daughters in Markham and Sandy even travelled to Halifax, NS and Woodstock, Ontario to stay with our girls while Owen and I attended Officer's Retreats. She was patient, kind and giving. We love her and will miss her regular phone calls and visits.
We know these past few months have been difficult for her but rejoice with her that she no longer is suffering but is resting with the Lord. Well done good and faithful servant!

Condolence: Aunt Sandy was one of the few people in my life who endeared herself to my family so much that she earned an honorary family title of "aunt".
I have fond memories of being babysat by Aunt Sandy and having her teach me how to cross-stitch and helping me improve on my cribbage playing.
She remained a key part of our lives with every move our family made and she was always on the list of people we would stop and visit. She made the effort to remain in my life; attended my bridal shower, my wedding, and most recently called to congratulate my husband and I on our expected first child.
Her loving, caring, and giving personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Condolence: To my friend who so often provided a listening ear, a hug and a phone call at just the right moments throughout life and to the most caring babysitter ever, you will be deeply missed. You cared for all of us through many of life's toughest moments and laughed with us through many celebrations. We love you forever and always.

Condolence: Twenty plus years ago, I met Sandy at a nursing job fair. Her warmth made one feel like one was already part of the team. That was what Sandy did. I was privileged to share an unforgettable trip to California with her. She was a wonderful companion, who gleefully recorded each days adventures. A compassionate nurse, always ready to offer assistance. A dear friend, her time with us will be forever treasured. Jeannette

Condolence: Sandy - your generosity of spirit was evident in so many ways - bringing Erin a "get-well" basket - providing cat treats to my "boys"- always offering to trade shifts when we had something important going on - we will miss you.
