Rushnell Family Services

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Summers can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Carol Metcalfe
Condolence: John came into my life when he married my mother, Shirley Summers. John was a wonderful stepfather, caring, understanding, patent and kind. He taught me so many things, gave me a summer job helping him at his work - teaching me some plumbing skills. Mom never felt more loved with John, and he treated her 6 children like his own. He and Mom loved Johnny Cash, dancing, baking and gardening. John and Mom came to visit me in Saskatoon in 1996, a visit I will always treasure. Rest in Peace John. You will always be in my heart and memories. Never forgotten. Love Carol.

Condolence: John was the bravest man I know--he married my Mother, Shirley, and took on 6 children with grace, dignity and love. He taught me to make the world's best pie pastry, and showed me that the best things in life are the simple things. John was true blue, and will always be one of the finest examples of a man that I have known.
