MILLAR, Grant E. (Dusty)-
Retired R.C.A.F. and WWII Veteran, passed away at Quinte Gardens Retirement Home on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016 in his 100th year. Son of the late Clifford and Luella Millar. Loving husband of the late Laura (nee Sine). Cherished father to Diane Genereaux (William), Gail Millar both of Belleville, the late Bonnie Sharpe (Gary) of Madoc and Grant Millar Jr. (late Mayme) of Ottawa. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Laurie (Paul), John (Leigh Ann), Wesley, Mary (Serge), Jamie (Lindsey), Jeffrey (Amy), Peter, Jessica and many great grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Grant is survived by his brothers Clare (late Ethel), Robert Noyes (Pat) and predeceased by brothers Clifford (late Jean) and Roy (late Betty). Grant was personified by the words "service, integrity and honesty." Service to his country with 25 years in RCAF, a second career as a Probation Officer, volunteering in his community through Kiwanis, Pensioners Concerned and other organizations. He was always involved in music and played with the Stirling Citizens band as a teenager and again after he returned to the area in retirement not to mention many bands in between. He was an avid sportsman throughout his life and well into his 80's. He excelled in curling and represented the local club at several levels. Above all he loved and cared for his family and will be loved and missed by all. With respect to Mr. Millar’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private family gathering was held at BELLEVILLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL LTD, 68 N. FRONT ST. BELLEVILLE (613-968-5080). If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Westminster United Church or charity of your choice.
