- It pleased the Lord to call home our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Nick Dykstra in his 85th year at his home in Belleville on Sunday, September 24th, 2017. Nick was predeceased by his wife Fran (nee Burmania) in May of 2005, and his brother Hessel in March of 2010. Son of the late Jelle and Wytske (nee Zylstra). Loving father of Alice and John Rekman of Sarnia, Chuck and Joanna of Brampton, and Rick and Yvonne of Russell. Loving grandfather and great-grandfather of Andrea and Carl VanRooyen, Corryn, Maiya, Jaedyn, Janelle and Jared Klassen, Mark and Elysia, Brad and Nicole, Karlie, Lisa, Eric (Marie Adams Robertson), Michelle (Lynden Lockhart), Peter (Stephanie Potts), Joel, Erin and Ian Swinkels, Steven (Amanda Doerwald) and Daryl (Emily Dick). Dear brother of Bill and Ginny Dykstra, Rennie and Marten VanderWal, Jane and John Breukelaar.

Mr. Dykstra is resting at the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 100 College Street West, Belleville for visitation on Thursday, September 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Nick’s Life at the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church on Friday, September 29th, 2017 at 1 p.m. Interment Belleville Cemetery prior to the services. Pastor John Visser officiating. If desired, donations to the Quinte Christian High School or the Belleville Christian School would be appreciated by the family.
