HOARD, ROBERT HARRY CAMERON - Robert Harry Cameron Hoard passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2018 at Campbellford Memorial Hospital in his 88th year. Son of the late Ross and Jessie Hoard of Anson. Robert will be sadly missed by loving wife of 60 years Lois, Daughter Linda (Steve), Heather, and son Kenneth (Wendy), Grandchildren Brandon (Michelle), Eric (Melissa), Lindsay (Steven), Alisha (Shawn), Michael, Great grandchildren Robyn & Blair as well as many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by sisters and brothers in law Leigh and Phyllis Tamlin of Lindsay, Catherine Simmons of Cambray, Brenda Tamlin of Woodville, Phyllis & Guito Ticco of London. Robert was predeceased by brother James and his wife Mary Hoard of Stirling, brother in law Kenneth Tamlin of Woodville and Bruce Simmons of Cambray. Robert was born July 7th, 1930 and lived his whole life on the Hoard family farm. Robert went to school and church in the Mt. Pleasant community where he lived. Robert started his working career as a cattle drover renting his father’s truck. He became a pork buyer for Canada Packers. Robert was one of the founding partners of Oak Hills Golf Club and enjoyed the business and partnership for 30 years before selling it. Robert was also a Car salesman at Wells Ford in Stirling for a number of years Robert and Lois enjoyed their retirement by traveling, spending winters in Florida and entertaining friend and family with meals, cards & Fellowship. Robert was a life member of the Stirling Masonic Lodge A.F & A.M No. 69 Stirling & Frank Lodge No. 127, he was also a member of Mt. Pleasant United church, club 55 Stirling, Mt. Pleasant coffee club, Trent Hills Probus and past member of A.O.T.S. Robert and Lois enjoyed Volunteering at Farm Town Park.
Mr. Hoard is resting at the Stirling Funeral Chapel, 87 James Street, Stirling (613-395-2424) for visitation on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant United Church from 12-1 p.m. Funeral Services from Mt. Pleasant United Church, Hoards Road, Stirling on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Mt.
