HOWES, Vera Frances – On Saturday, December 15th, 2018, Vera passed away at the Golden Pond Long Term Care Facility, at the age of 102. Daughter of the late John and Pheobe Wickens (nee Cleave). Beloved wife of the late Allan Howes. Dear mother to Shirley Grills (Elden Chapman), late John Howes, Burton Howes (Cheryl) and Allan Howes (late Karen). Vera is pre-deceased by her sisters, Maude, Mable, Ethel, Annie, Marjorie, Evelyn and brother Elmer “Jack.” Survived by her brother-in-law Maurice Reid. She will be greatly missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at the Stirling Funeral Chapel, 87 James St. (613-395-2424) on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at 2:00p.m. (with visitation one hour prior to the service). Pastor Rodney Smith officiating. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family.
