Gordon Aubrey "Gord"  Smith
SMITH, Gordon Aubrey - Peacefully at home on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 surrounded by his family. Son of the late Myrtle and Kenneth Smith of Belleville. Beloved husband of Penny. Remembered with much love by his children Stephanie (Ken) Manderville and Jennifer. Dear grandfather of Jaclyn and Ellen.
Gord will be missed by his many friends found on university football fields across the country, fellow sailors at the BQYC, fishing buddies eager to plan their next trip to the North West Territories, as well as players from the Quinte Curling Club.

An educator and involved coach in the Belleville area for over thirty-five years, Gord influenced many lives. He received the Pete Beech Award for his involvement in student athletics, as well as being inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.

Friends and family are invited to visit at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613 968-5588) on Friday February 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew’s United Church, 25 Holloway St. Belleville on Saturday March 1st , 2014 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of Gord’s life at the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club,86 South Front St. Belleville.
If desired, memorial donations to St. Matthew’s United Church, Hospice Quinte, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
