Rushnell Family Services

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sandra Welch can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Sandra Budden

Sandy Welch came into our lives in Markham, Ontario at The Salvation Army Markham Corps. This was our first appointment as Salvation Army officers. I am not sure if she adopted us into her family or we adopted her but she quickly became Aunt Sandy to our three daughters. She has remained a true family friend and celebrated many special family moments with us - happy and sad ones. The recent celebration was on the news of our eldest daughter, Rebekah, expecting her first child and Owen and I becoming grandparents! Sandy and David would often babysit our daughters in Markham and Sandy even travelled to Halifax, NS and Woodstock, Ontario to stay with our girls while Owen and I attended Officer's Retreats. She was patient, kind and giving. We love her and will miss her regular phone calls and visits. We know these past few months have been difficult for her but rejoice with her that she no longer is suffering but is resting with the Lord. Well done good and faithful servant!
