The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of George Wolfe can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Uncle George has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember ~ from my earliest memories of Christmases and visits with my grandparents and Auntie Mae at their home, to my choir concerts, family reunions, weddings and celebrations. As many of his friends and family are aware, Uncle George loved golf, socializing and music. He loved to sing (something I have in common with him) and always encouraged me in that regard attending many performances. Uncle George would entertain us as well, often with Auntie Edna alongside. For me, Uncle George also represents a link to my grandparents and our family's Scottish heritage. Uncle George and Auntie Edna came to Canada with my grandparents in the 1950's. Many of us literally would not be here today had they not had the bravery to make that voyage to start a new life. I am extremely grateful for this and for the life our family crafted out for us here. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to ask Uncle George and Auntie Edna to recall stories and details about our family history. I will miss his voice and Scottish accent, just like my grandparents and Auntie Mae, when he spoke. When Chris and I were married in November 2014, I was fortunate enough to have both Uncle George and Auntie Edna there. They both had a ball and to this day my friends still talk about Uncle George and his prowess on the dance floor! Uncle George had a special quality about him that endeared others to him. He has taught us all, through his actions in his life, the importance of sharing your love with others and living life to the fullest. He never missed an opportunity to tell me how proud he was of me and how proud my grandparents would be of me. Uncle George has shown us all how to be a good friend and partner, to value your family, and most of all, how to enjoy your life. I saw Uncle George twice in recent weeks. Even in those last visits, he let his great love for his family be known. We loved him too and will miss him very much.
